Just a program note: No more Instagram.

As part of my attempt to pare down extraneous time sucks, to free up more time to swim and make photographs, I've deleted my Instagram account. It was getting far too FaceBook-ish.

If you look for me there you won't find me. Thanks.

It feels refreshing to close accounts. My wife and I finally fully closed our Amazon accounts, and surprisingly don't miss it. I immediately lost access to years of digital purchases (the movies and kindle books, not the mp3's) proving once and for all that they had zero to do with ownership, and were just long term rentals. No longer having access to Prime Video means missing a few good series, but who knows, maybe we will read more or even take more photos.

My IG is just for play. I don't expect anything from it. Since my expectations are very low I haven't been disappointed.

Way to go, Kirk!

Instagram does not let you browse images without a login -- so only Instagram account holders can see IG. Not a very good business model -- so you probably aren't losing much by deletion.

A good move. I do not like place where you cannot browse without account.

Good! Another reason not to sign up for an account.

Hi Kirk, I actually joined Instagram to follow you. Since then I've followed very few friends, and mostly a range of diverse, predominantly female artists. After six months it's starting to get enjoyable, or at least I'm getting something until the galleries open. Thanks for your posts there.
