Christmas Carol, Austin style. An undercurrent of Dickens, lots of modern music, incredible choreography, a "Ghost of Christmas Past" with panache and a glowing wig, and Madonna's song, "Holiday" thrown in for good measure.

ReplyDeleteIt looks like Zach has a black Scrooge! More power to the company!! A Christmas Carol is about greed, self-concern, regret and reflection, and eventual redemption-truly universal themes. Every theater company claims to be color-blind in casting, but few actually have the guts to do so. Congratulations to Zach.
Bob, our "Ghost of Christmas Past" is African-American, as is the "Ghost of Bob Marley" and even our "Tiny Tina" (who is also a femaie!!!) Zach is all about inclusion, diversity and the big tent. I'm so proud to be associated. Funny thing, our Scrooge is such a great actor that after the first five minutes of the play the audience truly does become completely color blind...
