I was amazed to find that Allen's Boots has a store on the Main Street in Fredericksburg. The store is big, better lit than the original and a lot tidier. I passed on buying the purple boots. Just wouldn't go with anything else I have in the closet...
Again, very pleased with the older Leica 35-70mm f4 ROM lens for the R system. Adapted to the SL2-S it seems to do a great job on general boot photography.
One last peek at the purple boots. You know you want some...

I don't object to plum-coloured women's boots, but the two-tone design doesn't work for me. Fortunately there seems to be an almost infinite selection of styles to choose from at Allen's.
ReplyDeleteDid you do any cowboy boot product photography? Some higher end boots show amazing craftsmanship.
ReplyDeleteI've done ten or more blogs that feature close ups of wild cowboy boots at Allen's Boots but you might want to search the archives for "Little's Boots." It's custom boot shop in San Antonio that's been there for well over 100 years. We were hired by an ad agency to do both a product shoot and a full day of working shots. I even made a custom background on which to shoot the boots. A nice pair starts at around $4,000 at Little's. I thought the images in the blog post back then were pretty good. check them out.
