I agree, wide angels on small sensors has always just "worked" better for me, especially as I've never put out the cash for a really good APS-C ultrawide. I'm guessing the physics of light have some bearing on it, angle of incidence to the sensor sites, all that good stuff. But in the end its just about what the photo looks like. The DLUX8 is a darling, and a reminder that Leica engineered lenses on the Leica/Panasonic twins have always been superb lenses at bargain prices (with a free camera attached!). My first "real" digital camera was a Panasonic DMC-FZ1, their original "superzoom" and I think before there were the Leica twins. That lens made the camera, it was only 2mp but the way it saw light was just magical at the time.
