I like the way the New York Times used my photo, including a nice, big credit. Sweet.

Great. Now you might be considered a professional, but that might blow some people's minds as you only have Fuji and Panasonic gear.

I hope there was some monetary renumeration involved. Hard to feed the family on a byline. But that is really great, congratulations. And having an Anna Devere Smith piece at your local theater is icing on the cake.
Hi Jim. After 30 years in the business I've pretty much figured out the financial ramifications of not getting paid for stuff. But thanks for reminding me. As with most theater P.R., and Public Relations work in general, I was well paid for producing images for the production's media kit which includes editorial usage (with credit). Interestingly, this is the second Anna Devere Smith production we've done at the theatre. Back in 2007 Anna Devere Smith spent over a month at Zach Theatre putting the finishing touches on her play, "Let Me Down Easy" and presented it, initially, at Zach. This was a ramp up for it's national theater presentation. I have interesting memories of a photoshoot done with her in 2007.....

Naw. Not the right style for corporate work. But not a bad motivator to do some PR this Spring...
Please don't tell the editors that I used a Fujifilm camera and lens for this. If it gets out that I'm only using amateur cameras I may never get booked again!!!! For heaven's sake, be careful.
I find New York's idea of theater fascinating. Shows debut, of course, on Broadway. THE WORLD PREMIER. But only after it's been running for months in some smaller market to iron out the bugs. Living in San Francisco, I saw Wicked a year before anyone in NYC did. But I am sure that when it did open on Broadway, the official pitch was that nobody had ever seen it before.
I guess Austin gets some of that love too! It's fun to see the stuff before the Elite do ;)
