Kirk, Beaverton, OR. The goto Summer dinner I make for guests is wild caught BBQ salmon, unshucked BBQ corn with lime chipotle mayo spread (or butter if you're a traditionalist) and a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.
JimR, I'd like nothing better but....as I may have mentioned....I'm awaiting my passport. It's being renewed. Takes 7-9 weeks in the good ole USA... In the meantime we swelter.
PS. If you decide to visit karmagroovy, or Portland in general, try to stay at the two hotels below. The chain hotels are comfortable, but these will be an experience worth the trip.
Completely agree with Anonymous' hotel recommendations, especially Edgefield with onsite brewery, winery, three restaurants, live music amphitheater venue and pitch and putt golf course. Doesn't give you much reason to leave the premises, although close proximity to the Columbia River Gorge would be the best reason.
As others have pointed out, it's unseasonably cool and showery in this corner of the country. Some fresh snow in the Cascades, and the prevailing winds have spared us the bushfire smoke of the last three summers. So far.

Pack your bags and come to the Pacific NW. In my hamlet, the high temperature is forecast to be 59 on Tuesday.
Where exactly? Well not too exactly.... but ballpark?
And what's for dinner on Tuesday?

Seattle this week will have lows in the 50s and highs in the mid-70s. The skyline is beautiful as well.

Kirk, passport renewals are taking much longer these days, at least when not expedited. It's been more than 4 months for one of ours!

Do you have an “Enhanced” Drivers License? If yes, you do not need a passport to drive between the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Vancouver, BC, is about 150 mi from the Seattle airport.
