We shot this in an hour or so on a rainy afternoon back in early February. It's a bit rough in places but there were no rehearsals, no crew and no control over the locations.
I used a Lumix S1 camera with the V-Log update but I shot in the flat profile instead of V-Log. We used the 24-105mm lens and stabilized in an "old school" manner with a monopod.
The mic is a Rode reporter mic and I broke all the rules by using it with ALC (automatic level control).
I like the footage and I like the energy of the people being interviewed.
It's a good message. Enjoy.

My favorite thing? When my kids climb into bed with me in the morning and my wife has brought me a tea. :)

We had a fun time making the video. I shot all the interviews on the run, as a one person crew. I loved using the "stick" microphone, it sounds so, so, so different from lavaliere mics. Life can be beautiful if there is always something in it that you love.
You should just spend the rest of your career interviewing people. They all seemed to get right into it. Even that old guy on the bridge with the insane white hair. Well done. Now just waiting for someone to come along with the inevitable technical critique.
You really have a talent in making total strangers feel comfortable and share their feelings with you and the camera! That's what makes you a great portrait photographer to IMHO. Thanks for sharing this video Kirk, I loved watching it.
