Don't know. This is actually a complex topic. Without the goggles tipping you off that she was swimming, I'd say she looked like she had been standing under a sprinkler or sprayer of some kind. I have this feeling (but I could be wrong) that when people get out of a swimming pool, the water looks streaky on their flesh, rather than pebbled. The complex part would be, "How do you want this to look in an ad for (a) a resort or (b) a Kohler shower head?" If, say, the beautiful young woman (no question there) was climbing the ladder on a beautiful pool with palms in the background, would this facial effect be correct? Or would the viewer the viewer feel a bit of psychological dissonance?
This particular case would be a trivial example, but the question would become more important when you start constructing photos with AI, say, a woman shot dry in the studio in a bathing suit and then relocated into a pool you pulled off the internet. Your AI prompt would have to say something like "add streaks of gravity-drawn water down the woman's face with various small speckles of water on goggles" rather that "add speckles of water on woman's face and goggles."
Well JC, we could get a lot more literal and put her up on a podium in front of a slightly out of focus swimming pool complete with starting blocks, lane lines and backstroke flags, toss a medal around her neck and write caption like: "championship swimmer" on it. Would that be better? It's certainly not what I had in mind. At all....
Water streaks or no water streaks, that is perhaps my favorite of your collection of portraits. That young lady and Lou were excellent partners for you.
Jon, I had no intention to pause over Christmas until one over zealous commenter started telling me "how to" blog and what I "should" or "should not" say. I got pissed off and decided to take the rest of 2023 off. I didn't stop writing much.
And I'm happy to be back.
If you are sad to only have an SL2 you might want to.....buy a few more cameras. A Q3 is a nice adjunct.

People used to list shutter speeds and f-stops with photos, now they'll start listing AI keywords.
