Back in Austin! Dorothy was right: "There's no place like home." I've got some processing ahead of me but I'll have a blog up sometime tomorrow.

 

Yeah. First day at the hotel I got a note from the front desk:  "Kirk, would it be okay if we upgraded you to a suite. No charge, of course..." Well, I thought about it for a while and then decided I might as well give it a try.

I ended up taking a totally different set of cameras than I thought I would. I'll write about it tomorrow. 

Also, brazenly carried an "untaped" and "unstealthed" Leica with me on every Metro ride, through every neighborhood and in public places in all hours of the day and night. Red dots galore. No one acted with ill intent. Most people could have cared less. Wasn't the victim of property crimes of any sort.  Maybe I look scarier than I think I do. Or maybe people are just a bit paranoid....
