Today I was delighted to reacquaint myself with a miraculous 32 megapixel, square format camera. One that shoots really nice "monochromes" I spent an hour making square photographs before lunch.
I'm a square guy too. Esthetics quite often dictate a choice of format, however if left to my own devices, I feel the square format is magical. Maybe it's because I started off with a Brownie then Rollieflex TLR then Hasselblad then Rollie again. I only used 35mm for print work, stock and personal stuff like family photos. The square is also more versatile when cropping is required. I wonder if my preference for "pre-visualizing" in a square format is genetic? Ummm, nature or nurture???
Wow I see Austin is going all "woke" with a trans mannequin!
ReplyDeleteIn general, I like your square compositions better than your rectangular ones. I would say the same about my own work.
ReplyDeleteIt’s “Hip” to be square.

Kirk your framing always just works with my brain
ReplyDeleteThe like the sepia tint on the first several images. It was interesting and unexpected. The "straight" B&W really grabbed me though.
