Staying wet and staying happy.

Fewer blogs means more time for swimming.  And more time to shoot. Above: Hblad, film, Big lens. Big light. Beautiful woman. Balanced equation.

Here's one from 2010 that summarizes my "new" blogging direction: http://visualsciencelab.blogspot.com/2010/11/getting-back-to-basics.html

More on Tues.

In light of the mirrorless revolution and the Sony SLT technology I think this post I wrote a few years back is interesting.  http://visualsciencelab.blogspot.com/2010/02/how-would-i-design-perfect-camera-for.html

If this is the result, take a few more weeks... ;)

Round two... Someone could probably trick me, or not.. but the big creamy feel of this can't be equaled by digital in my mind.. Rare to be captured by a photograph, and really enjoyable to boot!

Peace out,

Joe

If you stop "Twittering" how will you know what Maylene from Bumblestuck, Missouri, really thinks about that cute new stock boy at the Piggly Wiggly? Life will not be the same.

I read your "Back to Basics" blog, and must say i have seen this coming. It is hard for me to see how you can find the time for running a business, swimming in the AM, and writing this great blog besides. Just know, whatever direction your online voice takes in the future, that I've enjoyed the ride, and that your thoughts here have changed my photographic life for the better.

Cheers,
Tony

We've always had more than enough "vacuous and banal photographs," but we never knew how much. With the 'Net and the "posting a huge melange of crap," we now know -- and it is overwhelming.

Kirk, The portait is magnificent! As for the "Back to Basics" blog, I sincerely applaud you for putting it all out there like that. I agree completely. Now that you've had a few weeks off, you should be completely immersed into a much more "normal" lifestyle, and thinking exceptionally clear by now. I am excited to see what you have to say in the coming days and months!

Wonderful image, as always. Looking forward to tomorrow, I have always enjoyed your blogs in the past, and amazed how you could post so much, and maintain the quality. It will be great if you can maintain the quality, even if the frequency drops to a rate you are happy with. May thanks.

Gosh, I just read a comment about leaving twitter, "Tuck is totally old school and doesn't get the web..."

They are 100% right. Been using the web since 1992 and still don't get it. Holy Shit! That's two decades. Maybe I should tweet about it.
