Just a note to say that I miss walking through the streets and being able to photograph interesting people without face masks...

I wear one. I busted a photographer last week who was about to head into a camera store without his mask. I think we all deserve to be safe. I think we all have a responsibility to keep other people safe.
I'm wearing one until the health authorities sound the "all clear."

But that doesn't mean I don't miss seeing beautiful, naked faces out in public places. And my cameras feel the same way...

Went to the grocery store a few days ago and there were very few people wearing masks. I also had to go to Home Depot yesterday and it was the same thing. I always wear one when I go out. I don't know what to make of any of this. With all the protests happening it seems that another wave of Covid-19 is imminent but no signs of it yet. Here in Toronto, the parks are open and two weeks ago about 10,000 people showed up at one particular park, jammed in like sardines. People are fed up with physical distancing and the pandemic. I think that says a lot about our entitled 21st-century mindset. With people outside now and the colder climates finally getting nice weather the spread may not be as severe but we may pay for it dearly when we head back indoors come November. I just don't know what to make of any of it. 2020 has been quite the kick in the balls.

It takes a week or two between infection and symptoms and a month or two between infection and death (for those headed that way). Also a month or two for the virus to start to spread in another wave after it gets out again. Everyone is tired of this but if there is another spike it could be worse than the first wave. We'll see what happens over the next month or so.

Think of how new this virus is and and what it's done in a few months. Until there is a good combination treatment that knocks down the severity of the virus and the cytokine storm that can follow or a real vaccine that works well and is safe (not that I don't trust whatever the government comes up with after cutting every corner they can to rush it out in a few months instead of the many years that it takes if done carefully) we might need to just put up with it.

You only live once Kirk. If you, and a consenting adult choose to take a careful risk then go for it.

Not in Austin. Not right now. Swimming is the only risk I'm willing to take.
