Street photography doesn't take guts or an extroverted personality or disregard for people's privacy. It just takes intention and consistent practice being human to other humans. And nailing your speed.

When someone says to me that they could NEVER photograph strangers in public or that they are uncomfortable even pointing their camera at strangers I first think: "A stranger is just a friend I haven't met yet!" but sadly, my second thought is to wonder if there is some pathology afflicting the reticent photographer such that they would benefit from working on it. Sad to go through life paralyzed by social anxiety. So much to photograph in the middle of one's culture... Or outside of it.
