Looks like Summer will be rougher than I thought. Surgical procedure to remove spot of cancer on face not 100% successful. Next step is Mohs surgery. So much time out of the water. Need to buy an M11 to amuse myself during the downtime.

Some photos. All done with different cameras. None done with mannequins. All done with real people.

Vrooom.

Drinking coffee and photographing in Winter in Boston.

La Familia. Old Sweetish Hill Bakery on a chilly Sunday morning.
Kirk meters the light before going out on a boat. Yes! A real light meter...

About 15 years ago. How about that?

Pensively considering my latest medical news.
Decided to not care and to finish reading a great novel.

Unfortunately even an M11 may not provide suffient amusement. Sorry to hear, best wishes to a speedy recovery.

Best of luck for a speedy 100% recovery. God's speed.

Well, you’ve been through Mohs before, Kirk. So you know you’ll come out the other side okay. But you need something to divert yourself afterward. An M11? Maybe. But would an M3 43 scratch the itch - at two thirds the price? An SL3 - or don’t you need anything that big anymore? Either way, best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I'm confident that you will soon post about how it was all a non-event, but until then, ouch that sucks. Any thoughts of reducing your UV exposure further?

Dang. Sorry to hear that. I second Joel's "best wishes". Hope all goes as well as can be expected.

Re or re-read Anna Karenina, buy two M11s and take care.

Wishing you good health and as little time out of the water as possible!

You gave me pause there. Been reading some military themed novels and the M11 reference that popped into my head was the M11 automatic pistol by Sig Sauer. Having grown up in Texas, it is probably the most likely way the term is used in the state. Glad to hear you are not turning the studio into an armed bunker.

Such beautiful portraits. Love the one of the family at Swedish Hill - how I miss that bakery. You’ll be back in the water in no time!

Wishing you the best in your upcoming surgery and a speedy recovery. The pool will have to wait but I feel your pain at its "beckoning"!

I know how much you love swimming. I suppose you could get more steps in until you get the okay to return to the pool. I know that swimming in chlorinated pools is a no-no for an while after many treatments. Is there any chance that you could swim in non-chlorinated water? Anyways, I wish you a speedy recovery.
