We Moderate Comments, Yours might not appear right after you hit return. Be patient; I'm usually pretty quick on getting comments up there. Try not to hit return again and again.... If you disagree with something I've written please do so civilly. Be nice or see your comments fly into the void. Anonymous posters are not given special privileges or dispensation. If technology alone requires you to be anonymous your comments will likely pass through moderation if you "sign" them. A new note: Don't tell me how to write or how to blog! I can't make you comment but I don't want to wade through spam!
Very cool to listen to the audio clips.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love this - the vintage shots especially. Is it just me, or were people in 1948 (and people FROM 1948, in the shots from today) better than we are at being in photographs? Maybe it's that we're in such a visual culture, that we're all so studied on image-making and aware of ourselves as potential photographic subjects to be able to genuinely face the camera and be ourselves?
ReplyDeleteI think that with age comes a certain comfortable elegance in high achieving people and maybe a sense of peace in most people. I think Damon Winter was wise to leave them space in which to show it.
