Appear awfully soft at display size (iPad retina). No pixel peeping, just as they appear.

Looking at most of the images I find them to be sharp except beyond the limits of depth of field. Most were shot near the wider apertures and so some people in foregrounds are soft, but that's a function of the depth of field, not an obvious characteristic of the lens. Example: the very last photo was shot through a guard rail. The focus was on the blue wall about 100 feet away. The guard rail was about 20 feet away. The f-stop was 2.8. The rail does look soft but every point along the blue painted was seems sharp and detailed.

Viewing them I too, find them to be sharp where you selected the focus to be. Impressive for such a cheap lens. IT has me reconsidering adding to the arsenal of Fuji glass.

What I don't understand is why does the FF 35mm f2 version come in at 3 times the price? Well in Canada at least. I was thinking of getting one for my M4 but not at the price they want. My little VC Color-Skopar will do just fine for now. It might be a net thing but the images look a bit "flat" to me. No juiciness. Could have been the light however.

For 2019, Reach Out and Touch Someone, but not if you're their boss ;)

Kirk the wedding party...I'm assuming you focused on the bridal party? If so, then this lens would be a hard no for me and I'm not very hard to please when it comes to lenses. Maybe you received a poor copy but something just doesn't look right.

Interesting but not impressive, but it just may be a matter of taste.

I’m seeing these samples as being essentially in focus, particularly considering the aperture settings. Not a bad piece of kit considering the price. I think this would be a fun addition for my xt3.

I always review my own photos with the question, "Where did it (or I) focus?" In this set, I see where the focus is, and where it's not. I don't find the softness disturbing. It's a "gentle" look.

BTW - I am very glad to see people wearing masks that give them at least half a chance of not damaging their lungs and liver or kidneys from the toxins in spray can paint.

The pictures feel cold. Even the one of the green bike. It's not because of the sun angle or Kirk didn't the color temp right. He always gets the color temp right. In many of the pictures, not the wedding picture, exposed skin seems to have a touch of magenta? That maybe not it but something is off.

I really like picture no. 2 above. The huge lady with big lips, people in the foreground, people coming out of the jungle above. It's great!

Optically: the new lens seems OK, but maybe lacking character? I have a suggestion: try to find an old-style Tessar type of lens and see how that performs. I love these old lenses with film.
