The park was largely empty today. No good running water for swimming and way too hot for most families.
A great opportunity for uncrowded landscape photography. Something I rarely do but sometimes enjoy.
I mostly used the old Y/C Carl Zeiss, Contax 35-135mm zoom lens, a few with the new Sigma 35mm f2.0 and all with the Leica SL2. Everything raw and then converted for the portfolio in Lightroom Classic.
Hope it rains soon. Hate to see the falls drying out. Photo of the photographer at the end.....

I took their advice and avoided hiking at noon. I started a bit closer to one.

Nice shots, even the one of the photographer! I've never seen the Pedernales so low; I'm with you on hoping for rain soon around here. One of the nice places to walk and take photos near me is Berry Springs Park, just outside of Georgetown. It has several spring-fed ponds that are now completely dry. Just so sad for the wildlife and the people who visit.

Hi "Unknown". It never hit 105° at Pedernales Falls yesterday. More like a balmy 102 or 103°. And the humidity was a bit lower than it had been. A bit of acclimation is a good thing. A good hat and shirt? Even better. The real secret is to drink a lot of water and to practice thinking coolness.
One simply cannot argue with the lovely results you got, Kirk. Do you still prefer the SL over the SL2?
Hi Biro, I am warming up to the SL2. The SL is such a great and bold design statement but the SL2 can be a better image maker if one doesn't need to regularly use higher ISOs. So, for landscape stuff the resolution and nice color of the SL2 is great while the SL is a wonderful, grittier, documentary camera. Also, I still prefer the monochrome image straight out of the SL camera.
