Untitled beautiful woman.

This young woman came to my studio with her older sister. An advertising friend of mine thought the older sister was a wonderful beauty and needed to be photographed. I disagreed. I understood at that moment how subjective human understanding of beauty could be.

I love the way the fall of her hair and the placement of a shadow on the right side of her face enhance the line of her cheekbones - no accident, I assume!

Sweet shot, but one wonders how her sister looked like ;-)!

This has always been an object of fascination to me. How the appreciation of beauty can differ from one individual to the next. It's funny how, while we agree that such person is "beautiful", we're not "touched" by him/her, and yet we can be smitten with and hyptnotized by another person. I like to think someone's soul somehow shines thru their looks, and that's the differenciation factor that we hook on, or not. We also all have our soft spots, stuff that resonate with us. Give me pale colored, wide set eyes, any day. Love those...

Of all your portrait subjects Michelle is the one that captivates my eye the most. A real stunner if you know what I mean. And I'm a 63 year old grandpa but I find her face enchanting.
