Not enough depth of field! :P I guess if food shots drive down blog hits then pretty girls in tank tops should even the score nicely ;) I do like the color and contrast in the background but I've always been fascinated by still life shots. For my part, no one looks forward to summer in Nebraska... or Winter... or spring tornado season... jeez. That only leave me about 4 weeks out of the year.

I've about had enough of winter up here in Canada. Unfortunately, it's not going anywhere until about late March or early April. Noellia, on the other hand, should be a permanent fixture on your blog. She is stunning.

We get about three weeks of 40's to 50's with some rain and stuff. But I like the hot, sultry weather. I like loafing at the pools and I like that everyone spends their time in shorts and t-shirts. Yeah, it gets hot but I'll take that over buckets of snow and drive way scraping any day of the week. It's cold here today. It was 52 degrees when Ben and I left the house at 6:30am. Nasty. And wet.

I often like to have shadows in my photos - shadows add character to them. I love the way this was lit. Noellia is lit, yet she's in shadows. I love the look of this photo. I am wondering if you used strategically-placed reflectors or lights (or both) to achieve this effect.

When I look at this picture I get the feeling that the unsharp-sharp relation is not entirely from the camera. I don't know about Kirk's ethics on this, but if it is real, then it would be interesting to try to find out why it looks like it does.

I had the same impression when I first saw this picture. Almost looks like a Gaussian blur from Photoshop. I'm not saying that's what it is, just that was my first impression. But then, I don't shoot 85/1.4 on full frame. :)

Hmmmm. Ethics as they relate to illustrative personal photography. I'd say you're barking up the wrong philosophical tree. Perhaps you've mistaken me for a journalist.

Sony Nex 7 with 50mm 1.8. Just having fun with the tilt/shift control in SnapSeed.
