Another early morning. Another milestone. VSL hits 22,000,000 direct page views.

From "Priscilla" at Zach Theatre.

While Google tells me that 87,000,000 page views have occurred that's a cumulative measure of all links and blinks and RSSs and stuff. The total number of "I went to the actual site and took a look..." numbers is, this morning, 22,000,000. It's fun to think about the sheer number of eyeballs that have read what I've splashed out over the last eight years.

If you've enjoyed the ride consider dropping a comment into the queue to help celebrate another milestone. The "quick hello" is one of the fun things I get from filling this site with content and images (lots of images. thousands of images.)

I'm back at work but wishing I was still on vacation. I bet the same is true for you...

A "quick hello" of congratulations and I am on permanent or perhaps it should be called terminal vacation. I'm retired. :-)

Never miss reading your site Kirk and I appreciate all the work you put into it! Hope to get down to visit one day now that retirement is here. My best to the family!

Another "Hello and congratulations" from yet another regular reader, also happily retired. I thoroughly enjoy the observations on equipment, technique, clients, and Photography-as-a-Business, but I most enjoy your observations and photos on life in general, such as family, the college boy, trends in photography and society as a whole, Austin/Texas environs, and what it all means, where we fit in, where is it all headed, and What time is it ?!? Keep up the good work, and continue to have a good time doing it all ! I am certainly having a good time reading all about it, and learning some new stuff at the same time.

Hi Kirk, and congrats! And yes, as you see I'm still reading after all these years... must be because the site is really good ;-)

Congratulations on the number of page views. As I've said in the past I look in at least once every day. I even looked in every day last weekend :-).

And to think, if we paid only a dime per visit....

Hi, Kirk. I missed your writing these last few days.

Nearing 75, I'm strongly considering tapering off my free-lance IT gigs, and going on a never-ending vacation. Wait! There's this "honey do" list to think about ...

Here's the quick hello and congrats on 22,000,000, which on the surface may seem like a lot. But not when you consider the distance to the sun or Alpha Centauri. So, keep on keepin' on and we will gleefully keep on readin'.

Alpha Centauri? That's ambitious. I'm just aiming for Alpha Proxima...

Congratulations and thanks for your insight and inspiration Kirk, I've been along for the ride since you were shooting with the E 3 and those wonderful Olympus pro zooms. Always enjoy reading the VSL with my morning coffee here in Australia.

Kirk - Congratulations. Seems I've read your musings forever - from photo.net, LUG and on to VSL. My day isn't complete until I've taken a quick look to see if anything new is up. Keep up your outstanding work. Clearly the class of the field.

Sveiki from Latvia. Your energy is impressive and knowledge vast. I start my mornings with you and Mike Johnston and hope that both of you keep going as long as I am still breathing. We need your wise counsel.

Always worthwhile to drop by for a visit, have a chat over coffee and discuss the events of the day, as others have discovered. It's not just about the gear...Really!
Best wishes to you Kirk, your family, friends and all who've dropped by for a visit. : )

Cheers

Hello and congrats on 22 gazillions!
I don't mean to make you envious but I'm still on vacation. Sort of. I practiced my coughing, went to my doctor and successfully etended my sick leave till Friday. Hooooray.
By the way. I'm a bit curious. What is it exactly you miss from your vacation? The lack of opportunities of doing meaniningful art, i.e. well lit B&W portriats or is it something else?
Cheers.

Hi Kirk,

An interesting and enjoyable read as always. This is why I keep coming back to your blog. You write very well and your insights and perspective on photography make me a faithful follower. I'm sure I'm not unique in this respect which why your blog has hit the 20 million mark. So congratulations and well deserved! Speaking about writing: When is your next book coming out ? Loved reading the Lisbon Portfolio and I'm looking forward to it's successor.

Best regards,

Richard
