New Camera. Old Lens. Interesting intersections.

Panasonic G9+ PenFT 25mm f2.8.

Too upset by the Senate vote re: the Supreme Court to even think about writing anything.

Get ready for your comments section to be inundated by fascist tribalists. The result of decades of trying to destroy public education in America.

A comment about the PenFT lenses, of which I have several....though unfortunately not the 60 or 70.....If anyone is considering getting one, pay the extra for one is great condition. They’re little jewels.

I have the 25 f4 and it is a sharp gem. Another that is almost always overlooked is the 38 f1.8. Better than the 40 f1.4 in some regards and much cheaper and easier to find. I also have the 40, and it looks better on the camera and performs almost the same, though with a smidge more curvature of field and a trace more CA. Those differences are almost always the case for vintage 1.4s vs 1.8s. The 100mm lens is also common, and very sharp, but many copies have issues with sticky apertures, so buyers be alert.

I use my Pens on m4/3 bodies and Fuji XE2s....recent comments on DPR suggest that from the 38 up, they are usable on FF, but expect the usual issues with the borders. Viva the vintage.

Life as we know it is going to change, and not for the better. I believe photographers/photojournalist will be at the top of the hit list.

That is just silly, Roger.

I believe Roger is correct, the ability of one political party to break any norm, routine, law or ethical behavior with the idea that the "ends justify the means" is the start to a slide into chaos and tyranny. Who knew that religious fanatics and racists would ultimately destroy the strongest and more free nation the world has seen in modern times?
