The lady in the first picture is probably trying to get the Canon 'Camera Connect' software to work..... (I, too, am a Canon user with said software). Tongue in cheek as the 5Ds is not supported and I think she has that over her shoulder.
I use to go down to the Calgary Stampede in the evening to do people photography. There was always a great collection of shall I say interesting people. Not anymore. All everyone is doing is walking around looking down at their phones. SO BORING! Groups of people are giggling and laughing about what is on their screens and not talking to each other. They have become enslaved to social media and instant messengers. There is no such thing as living in the moment and taking it all in anymore, it is all about superficially communicating the moment and not experiencing it.
When I was in Rome this past October it was like the town was full of zombie tourists glued to their cellphone screens. So sad.
