Unicorn on Sixth Street.
I wish, just for me, that camera reviewers would spend a lot less time trying to write and a lot more time shooting the cameras they profess to be reviewing and then posting the results on their sites. You know, in the way that most people would want to use those cameras. Not on flat test charts. More likely on real life.

I have solved the "forgot a memory card" issue using this little device: https://www.optechusa.com/media-holsters.html. Every camera I own has one of these unobtrusive pockets on the strap with a spare memory card ensconced therein. The added bulk is very minimal.
The Op/Tech USA folks also make a similar pouch for camera batteries. However, forgotten/low batteries are much less of an issue with me so I do not use them.
I have be reading with interest your adventures with the X100V.
Back in mid-December, I got a good deal on an X100F and bought one as an experiment in creativity. It goes pretty much everywhere with me when I leave the house. Photographing with a fixed, wide angle lens is a very new experience for me. I am still learning how to make interesting photographs with it. That, of course, and having some fun is the whole point!
FWIW, I have a new in the package memory card in the glovebox of both my cars. Just in case.
Really nice Black and Whites.
I am playing around with the film simulations from Fuji X Weekly that you posted a link to about a week ago - have not quite landed on what I prefer but is a good way to learn the camera.
I found an article on imaging resources explaining the film simulation of the Fuji(long read) - https://www.imaging-resource.com/news/2020/08/18/fujifilm-film-simulations-definitive-guide - highly recommended reading, and gives a far better understanding than what is in the manual.
Kirk did you pp these shots or sooc? I like the tonality either way, just curious. Thanks! Bruce B.
Wonderful images Kirk. Austin is such a special place to be a photographer. Next to Europe and some parts of SE Asia I think it's my favourite.
Are you still using the TriX profile? I tried simulating it my GH5 with limited success. I will keep at it and see if I can nail it. It's good for some things but I don't think I would use it all the time.
All the best,
Eric
I've no interest in shooting street photography myself but I found today's photos with people to be particularly engaging today.
I always feel as if I am along on your photo walks when I read your blog posts about them.
Also, I keep going back and looking at the photo you have of the Sigma 65mm lens. It looks very interesting. Fortunately I don't have a "full frame" camera :-).
