We Moderate Comments, Yours might not appear right after you hit return. Be patient; I'm usually pretty quick on getting comments up there. Try not to hit return again and again.... If you disagree with something I've written please do so civilly. Be nice or see your comments fly into the void. Anonymous posters are not given special privileges or dispensation. If technology alone requires you to be anonymous your comments will likely pass through moderation if you "sign" them. A new note: Don't tell me how to write or how to blog! I can't make you comment but I don't want to wade through spam!

Oooh. Bokeh!
ReplyDeleteNo matter how much I try, I cannot enjoy coffee from a take-out cup. There's something about sitting at a table with a porcelain cup and real cutlery. I accept that it could all be in my head, but we live in our heads.
ReplyDeleteOn a related note, I have recently seen online ads for that non-dairy powered coffee cream substitute whose name we'd all recognize. There's no shortage of affordable dairy products in our society with long shelf lives, why does this stuff still exist.
Years ago a friend who worked in digitial communications attended an engineering conference in Europe somewhere. His employer did not have an association with a travel agency and so had to make his own arrangements, which took up a lot of one morning. This guy earned good money. He discussed this with colleagues at the conference, and one of his European colleagues asked him why North Americans think that a travel agent's commission costs too much and that people are better off navigating awful web sites for flights and hotel rooms. Why do we behave as if service has no value.
I recently watched a TV comedy skit about self-checkouts. The client got to a screen that prompted him for a tip amount. He called over a store employee and complained, "If I pay the tip, do I get the money for doing your work?", he asked.
Sorry for wandering a bit there.
Beautiful image. It violates so many rules. I like it!
