Window washers on Sixth Street.
My brother is not handy with technology or technical devices. He's spent the last 45+ years as a Latin and Greek teacher. To the best of my knowledge he's never owned a camera; his wife tends to take charge of their family's photo documentation needs. But if he ever called to ask me about buying a camera that is easy to use and makes great images I'd have to point him toward the Leica D-Lux8. I'll assume that he would use the full automatic modes and only work in Jpeg but I'm pretty sure the camera would serve him well.
I've had the camera for a week and a half and I'm edging towards 3,000 exposures. That's a bare minimum from which to start extrapolating a final opinion about the camera as a work tool but it's looking very, very good. I wonder if, after the tariff embroglio, Leica will resume sending this particular product into the USA. It is, after all, made in China. And it will be sad if the small number that have made it here already is the bulk of what we'll actually get; over time.
Sadly, seeing that it is out of stock everywhere, I will have to put mine on the market. I'm only asking $5,000 and that includes the box and all of the accessories. Ready to transact when you are. One caveat. I can only accept Euros. The dollar has lost 9% of its value in the last month and a half. I'd be taking a bath to accept anything less.... below are samples from my particular camera.
Why am I selling so cheap? Well, I want to have the money ready to go when a USA company launches a far, far superior line of camera products compared to anything currently on the market. Next month?
An American car. Everyone is my neighborhood is rushing to buy one right away!!!
Another fine project for the citizens of Austin to navigate around...
Love these, especially the monochrome leaning column and the tangle of service cables and pipes. I wonder if there is a "golden" angle that is perfect and most pleasing to the eye? Think leaning tower of Pisa... these angles are very pleasing to me, thank you for giving me something to consider over breakfast. The colours are very pleasing also, the pale green reminds me of the Mediterranean.
ReplyDeleteThanks. As you can tell I am very happy with my small camera purchase.
DeleteYou seem to be skilled enough to make all the cameras bend to your will. It's a talent. Of sorts.
