Okay. This is how great documentary and street photograph looks to me. We can argue about all kinds of minutia but in the end the guy who goes out with a sharpened vision and crazy good curiosity gets the win.

As I wonder among all the images on the web very few spark any emotional connection or tell a story like the photographs presented by Mr.Szynol. I will return to his albums for inspiration. Thanks for opening my eyes again to the meaning of art.

Thanks so much for that... having shot mostly B&W on my GF1 for a year or two (it helps steady my mind somehow)... the Syrian shopkeepers set makes me want to go and shoot some colour.

While I was waiting for Paul's site to load, I was reminded of his photos on the Leica Blog mentioned in an earlier comment. Which in turn reminded me of another Leica Blog contributor f/Egor - another excellent street photographer with a photo-journalist's heart, and a journalist's turn of phrase - a mighty rare combination.
