In mid-2020 the authentic street photographer is seen with his trusty
Panasonic GX8, the natty 12-32mm kit lens (which has awesome distortion!!!)
and his face mask. The bandana, worn loosely around the neck, serves as a
"back-up" face mask should the need arise.
Note to self: purchase less baggy clothing.

Excellent to see you out and about with your GX8. I have been wondering if it had become lost on your shelf behind all of your new glittery gear or had just wandered away from home as so many of your past cameras seem to do.
Today, I also pulled mine off the shelf, instead of my G9 or a7ii (the latter of which I seem to be in a losing battle of trying to like). It has been too long since we here have had a nice cloud day. Today some showed up, so I decided I should record the event from my porch isolation as today's clouds passed around the Sandia Mtns. I found the 14-140ii to be a perfect match for today's photos and have long found it to be the perfect mate for my GX8, causing a continuing multiyear love affair I have with that rig.
For whatever it may be worth, in my view, baggy shorts and shirts are the perfect outfit for airflow during too warm weather, especially for boomers who are not out to impress anyone who we have not already sufficiently impressed for other reasons.

I still have my GX8 from , well it seems a long time ago. Also the G9.
The one problem I found with the GX8, along with the GX7 and the G5 was the display button. An ergonomic problem, It sits under the thumb . Almost every time the camera is picked up the button is pressed. And it cannot be switched off, or reallocated.
I found a solution to this. I cut a self adhesive felt washer to the right size, and punched a suitable hole in the middle and stuck it over the offending button. This stops it being pushed by accident, but it can still be used if required. A suitable sized rubber O ring would work as well.

Generally, I like wider lenses better than longer lenses but I prefer the 14-42 over the 12-32 on my GX85. I couldn't tell you exactly why, I just do.
