The First Day in 62 with temperatures under 100°. A day for celebration and a late afternoon walk with a new lens and camera combo.

I won't belabor the details. It's the Fuji GFX 50Sii and the very eccentric
Carl Zeiss 50mm f1.4 ZF.2 lens. Shot square to take care of vignetting and
to make me happier with the compositions.

Two of my favorites from this afternoon.

Yeah, it was 92 degrees in the middle of the afternoon here in Dallas. I took the opportunity to get the sweaters out of storage and picked up some pumpkin spice latte at the 'bucks.

Fall is in the air!

That first shot shows us what a proper pick-up truck is supposed to look like. Not the cartoon-like caricatures being sold today. Nice work, Kirk.

Hi, Kirk. I like vignetting. Particularly in square-format shots. Think it would look especially nice with the pickup shot.

Enjoy the better weather!

Correction: I should have said “It looks especially nice on the pickup shot”.

Seventy-nine degrees this morning! That's wonderful after 107 this weekend...or was it last week? I'm brain addled from the heat.

Despite being a B&W guy, the color in these photos is lush. I have a Zeiss ZF.2 Planar but I don't use it much because--to my eyes--the Nikkor 50/1.8 AI/AI-S makes really creamy grey tones. Plus those Zeiss lenses are heavy. But beautiful. Really beautiful.

The truck photo makes me miss my old Dodge.
