...speaking of cupcakes. I'm spending the next 2 weeks in the Austin/San Antonio area for the purpose of visiting family and doing a bit of photography. I'm taking a road trip from ABQ to Fredericksburg in search of photographing the Texas Bluebonnet!! Something I've always wanted to see and do. Will definitely take a day or so to kayak at the Lady Bird Lake. May I treat you to a cup of coffee and cupcake? I'm sure you are super busy...and if not available I'll understand. Would love to join your master swim group...but I sprained my ankle/knee and broke my toe in February...just last week I finally got off the crutches...thus the road trip before I go stir crazy. I am floored by your blog site. It's gorgeous!!!....Will explore it as I start my journey!!!
Call me and let me know when you are going to be in Austin with some free time and we'll hit those cupcakes hard. Lots going on next week and most of it is fun!
Not much about cupcakes, but I thought about different thing. Photography is sorta about capturing reality. Have you ever tried hard to make photo "real". By that I mean you made for example portrait and tried to match it to reality as close as possible? Colors, contrast, exposure..
Just thought, nothing more..
I know photography isnt much about this, but about vision. Doesnt matter if its cupcakes or beautiful girl.
I've thought about buying the 50 F1.8. THough I have enjoyed some legacy Nikkors on my NEX6, I would like to take advantage of the AF that the 50mm would provide when with my young grandkids. If you are using the lens, then it must be "sharp enough". So would you classify this as a (1) "sharp" lens or a (2) "sharp enough" lens? BTW, "sharp enough" is good enough (for me). Thanks for your thoughts.

I think it's plenty sharp. Sharp enough for cupcakes and quick to focus. Add in good Image Stabilization and we're there.
