After all the recent news about the more liberal open carry laws in Texas, it's a relief to see your idea of security is a dog rather than a revolver.

Hi Kirk,

I like your pictures; and she (IIRC?) is one cute dog.

Speaking as a prospective dog owner (after a >30 year gap) is that a particular breed, or simply a particularly lovely mongrel?

PS - I love your blog, though have never been compelled to comment before. Especially love the shameless flip flopping between "gear head" and "it's not the kit that matters", which speaks to me very well!
