Delighted you had such an enjoyable stay, even with what we consider marginal weather. Always great fun to see your hometown from a visitors perspective; reminds us what we may be missing by familiarity; you've given me a few ideas to explore.
In my experience of having lived here for over half a century, there's no ambivalence about Vancouver ... you either love or you hate it. The score seems to be about 20/1 in favour of love it. I've known visitors who've never been here before to call home on the first Monday, quit their job and never leave. This place gets into your blood and bones. I've been to Europe, the Caribbean, Latin America, Southern Africa, Southeast Asia and lived in the US (Colorado). This is home and there's nowhere else I WANT to live ... except "just maybe" Singapore or Cape Town.
Come back anytime Mr.T. You'll always be welcome.
PS: And you didn't even get to explore the hinterlands. And then there's the summer Night Market and ...
Nice shots in this first set. I daresay being in a new city (especially one as attractive as Vancouver) stimulates the curiosity and the creativity. I'm not necessarily comparing these to the Austin skyline images...
Always curious about the EXIF data. And increasingly interested in the S5. So, for the night shots, did you use auto ISO, or a fixed fairly high setting? I reckon the IBIS was helpful if shutter speed was ever especially low? And referring to your comparison to Austin, like the graffiti, etc., I am glad to see a cleaner cityscape there. Got to consider relocating myself.

thanks for sharing Kirk. The 2nd batch was nice, but you "killed it" with this 1st bunch!

Fine black and white images. Really great, from tones to architectural tilts.
