Dear readers of all ages. I love comments. Love them very much. Such good feedback. Lately we've been getting spammed by hundreds of mindless anonymous comments a day (yes, "a day"). I turned on the 'verification' that made people select boxes of out-of -focus crap in order to send comments. It worked on the spam but pissed off large numbers of people who used to comment regularly.
I have turned off the verification in comments. No one should see the nasty grid of boxes filled with out-of-focus visual garbage. I've turned off my own Google+ account and no one should have to use any social media affiliation in order to comment.
I still have "moderation" enabled so I will go through and "approve" each comment, that's why your posted comment doesn't show up right away... You can put your name in the box when you comment or you can just put your name in the body of your comment if you like. You can even comment anonymously and as long as you are not referencing a site where I can buy edible sponges or dual use toilet paper and I'll probably push your comment right through and share it with the VSL hive.
Please comment. Your feedback, in part, informs what I will write about and also how often I write.
If you are a world famous novelist or photojournalist your comments also make me feel special. But all smart and topical comments give me warm and fuzzy feelings.
Repeating for emphasis: the obnoxious boxes are gone. The need to be affiliated with social media in order to comment is gone. It's just me and the comments.

Thank you for two things. First, being in the same sentence with Mr. Camp is an honor, as I have followed and enjoyed his writing for many years. And thanks for fixing things.
I read you every single day. If there is nothing up when I am drinking my morning coffee, I look again in the late afternoon. I am almost always in agreement with what you are saying. I love when you write about lights, this is my favorite subject, even more than cameras. I am a retired product photographer. Not a star, but I made my living at it.
I was in total agreement with your take on the Olympus OM-D M1X. I use Olympus OM-D cameras and like them, though I want a G9 because of the handling characteristics. I also am not so fond of too small.
I simply am not very good at writing. I one time wrote a comment about one of your lighting books and you wrote a post directed squarely at me, or so it seemed to me, you were not happy, so since then I have been hesitant to write anything, don't wanna be misunderstood if I really don't have much to say.
But I read every post you write and love it. I will try to come up with more comments in the future because I cherish your work, highly.

Annoying as they were, I never really minded the ReCaptcha requirement, but I know it drives some nuts. In any case, I enjoy this forum of photographers, professionals and enthusiasts alike. It is one of the most civil not only on this topic, but on the Internet in general. I'm quite sure with tireless effort by Kirk in curating what actually gets posted. Which is worth a huge Thank You just for that, not even considering the enormous values to the contents of the posts themselves.
